Biography

Marena Sever joined the Fiesta Sports Foundation as Communications Manager in September 2025 after serving as the Seasonal Communications Associate for the Foundation from September 2022 to February 2023.

Sever manages communications efforts for the Foundation and its signature events along with generating statewide and national media coverage for community engagement events, the Vrbo Fiesta Bowl and Rate Bowl and Foundation initiatives.

Prior to returning to the Foundation, Sever served as community engagement manager for the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Valley in Phoenix where she maintained and leveraged relationships with community partners including the Fiesta Sports Foundation, NBA & WNBA Cares, Phoenix Suns/Phoenix Mercury Foundation,  D-Backs Give Back and Arizona Cardinals. Additionally, she developed and implemented promotional strategies for BGCAZ’s communication campaigns, events and programs.

In her role as the Communications Seasonal Associate with the Foundation, Sever produced and distributed newsletters and e-blasts on behalf of the foundation and wrote creative/feature stories, media advisories, press releases, event scripts, and other communications materials. She assisted in executive game day and game week media operations elements and managed the media operations volunteers.

Originally from Scottsdale, Sever won Boys & Girls Clubs Arizona State Youth of the Year in 2018 before graduating from the University of Kansas where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Journalism and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science.
