Biography

Sarah Shewan joined the Fiesta Sports Foundation in 2025 as senior accountant, bringing deep expertise in financial operations, treasury management and accounts payable. In her role, she supports the Foundation’s financial infrastructure, manages multi-entity reporting and contributes to the execution of strategic initiatives that drive long-term impact.
 
She oversees financial closings, cash flow forecasting and the accounts payable processes, ensuring accuracy and efficiency across all levels of financial reporting.
 
Prior to joining the Foundation, she held senior roles at Magnetar Capital, where she managed over 40 private equity funds and oversaw more than $600 million in revenue. She also served as associate director of finance at the Big Ten Conference, where she led automation and policy initiatives that streamlined operations and improved compliance. Her career began at Ernst & Young in assurance services, where she developed a strong foundation in audit and internal controls.
 
Sarah is a licensed CPA and holds a Master's of Accounting Science from the University of Illinois and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance from Quinnipiac University. A former NCAA Division I basketball captain, she is originally from Russell, Ontario, Canada. Sarah enjoys trying new restaurants, coaching youth basketball and caring for rare indoor plants.
